🪚 Building Museum-Quality Chairs: Part 2 – Seat Assembly and Chair Backs 🪚 #shorts #woodworking

In part 2 of this 5-part series, we focus on the seat assembly and chair backs. Made from black walnut and hard maple sourced from Canada, the seats come together beautifully with the help of precision milled splines secured by the domino tool. This ensures everything stays perfectly aligned as the glue sets.

Watch the masterpiece emerge from the clamps!

Next, we move onto the chair backs. Milling the Cumaru (IPE) to specifications, we use a drill press with a custom jig to ensure precise alignment for the hardwood dowels, a crucial structural component. Each dowel is individually made with a dowel jig. With the risers completely assembled, we’ll tackle the rest of the chair back in part 3.

This is part 2 of a 5-part series. Stay tuned for part 3 coming next!
